ProperSound (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a pronunciation and language‑practice app. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. We designed ProperSound to keep your practice data on your device by default and to collect as little as possible.
You can delete individual recordings or all of them at any time in the app, and deleting your account erases all on‑device recordings and progress.
Creating an account is required to sign in and keep your progress associated with you. Sign‑in is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) using Sign in with Apple, Google, or email/password. Depending on the method you choose, we collect and store:
This account information is used only to operate the app (authentication and account management). It is processed by our authentication provider (Firebase/Google) on our behalf. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.
The microphone is used only while you are actively recording a shadowing take (when you tap “Shadow & compare”). Audio is processed on your device to compare your speech with the model. It is not streamed to a server.
ProperSound Pro is an auto‑renewable subscription sold through Apple’s In‑App Purchase. Payments and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple; we do not receive or store your payment details. Apple provides us with anonymous subscription status so the app can unlock Pro features.
On‑device data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Account data is retained while your account exists. You can delete your account from Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account, which removes your authentication record and wipes on‑device recordings and progress.
ProperSound is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
