Restore a previous purchase
If you bought premium on another device, or reinstalled the app:
- Make sure you’re signed into the same Apple ID that made the
purchase.
- Open Cube Coach 3x3 → Settings → Restore purchases.
- Wait a few seconds. If the original purchase is on file, the
“Free tier” row will switch to “Premium active” and the locked
courses will unlock.
The Restore button at the top of the paywall does the same thing.
Premium isn’t unlocking after purchase
A few things to try, in order:
- Force-quit the app and relaunch. StoreKit sometimes needs a
moment to deliver the receipt. The app re-queries entitlements on
every launch.
- Settings → Restore purchases. Same flow as above.
- Check your Apple ID’s purchase history. Open the App Store →
tap your photo (top right) → tap your name → Purchase History → find
“Cube Coach 3x3 Premium” — if the line is Completed, the purchase
succeeded.
- Sign out and back into the App Store. Settings → Apple ID →
Media & Purchases → Sign Out, then sign in again, then try Restore
once more.
- If none of the above work, email me — include
the date you bought, the country your Apple ID is in, and a
screenshot of the purchase line from Purchase History (with order
number visible).
Camera scan misreads stickers
Cube scanning is in beta. Under uneven lighting, glare, or with worn
stickers, the color detector can mis-read a face.
Things that help:
- Hold the cube in soft, even light. Direct sunlight + shadow stripes
is the worst case.
- Hold the cube about 10 cm from the camera, square-on.
- Make sure all 9 stickers of the face are inside the 3×3 grid overlay.
- After each face, the app shows a confirmation grid. Yellow border +
triangle mark mean “low confidence” — tap that sticker and pick the
correct color from the popup.
If you’d rather skip the camera entirely, tap Paint instead in the
top right corner of the scan sheet. The manual painter is often more
accurate than the camera, especially in challenging lighting.
The solver says my cube is invalid
A 3×3 cube has a finite number of legal states. If the colors you’ve
entered (manually or via camera) couldn’t actually be reached by
turning a physical cube, the solver will refuse rather than produce a
sequence that takes you somewhere worse.
Most common cause: one mis-identified sticker. Examples:
- You marked two centers as the same color. Each face has exactly one
unique center color.
- You marked one edge as a color pair that doesn’t exist (e.g.,
red + orange — they’re opposite faces and never share an edge piece).
- You marked one corner as a triple that doesn’t exist (e.g.,
green + blue + yellow — green and blue are opposite faces).
Try:
- Tap Reset to default scheme in Settings if you swapped colors
in the cube-color picker recently.
- Re-paint the suspect face (Cube tab → Input).
- As a last resort, scramble the on-screen cube and step through it
move by move; you’ll often spot what’s different from your
physical cube.
Refunds
Refunds for the in-app purchase are issued by Apple. Visit
reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in
with your Apple ID, find the Cube Coach 3x3 Premium purchase, and request
a refund. The developer doesn’t process refunds directly.
Privacy / data deletion
Cube Coach 3x3 stores almost nothing off your device. To wipe local data:
- Settings → Reset all data clears every solve, every lesson
completion, every snapshot, and every preference. It does not
clear your premium entitlement (so you keep what you paid for).
- Delete the app from your Home Screen clears everything,
including the premium entitlement cached in the Keychain. Your
Apple ID still owns the purchase — you can restore it any time.
